Jackson county Mississippi is the recipient of the Governors Award of Excellence . On May 25, 2010, Governor Haley Barbour presented the award. This award was given for an outstanding accomplishment in the area of improvements to the county. One major improvement project was at Trent Lott International Airport . The project is among many efforts to rebuild the communities affected by Hurricane Katrina.

This project was a partnership between Northrop Grumman Corporation and Trent Lott Airport. A new taxi way has been built in order to connect the airport runway to Northrop Grumman’s Unmanned Systems Center production facilities. Direct access to the runway allows more efficient testing and alleviates the travel to multiple locations.

Partial funding for the project came from a Katrina Community Development Block Grant . The U.S. Department of housing and Development funds local community development activities. These funds are issued out to the state for general use and are not strictly monitored for specific purposes.

The Trent Lott airport is located in Pascagoula Mississippi. Pascagoula is part of Jackson County. Katrina did not only hit New Orleans, Louisiana, but caused a lot of damage along the gulf coast. Towns along the coast of Mississippi were flooded up to 90 percent. One does not have to travel far to see the damage it caused, even several years later. Hurricane Katrina hit the gulf coast in 2005. Five years later, communities are still struggling to rebuild. Efforts from celebrities and locals alike have made a huge impact. All of the counties in the state were declares disaster areas. Jackson mississippi hotels are available throughout Jackson County for those who would like to lend a hand and be part of the rebuilding process. Even one day of volunteering can have a huge impact on a community. Volunteer organizations have set up relief programs for those affected by the storm.

Hawaii History of the Volcanic Heart

This moment comes too soon, and it’s another way to see the island from the inside of my heart. Honolulu wakes me up, and it makes me remember all the things we used to be. It’s quaint hotels are a nod to nature, and everything is a nod to nature, and the heart is natural, and I not to it. I would bow to your heart every morning if we were still observing the rituals, but we decided to become more restrained, somewhere between 30 and 35 million years ago.

Like the islands’ volcanoes , our period of greatest activity was before we got here, somewhere in the past, and it’s a long time ago now. That’s not enough of a reason not to be here, and not even enough of a reason to stop bowing, but we make considerations to make our lives easier and more convenient.

I remember you in your first incarnations, when there was nothing here but water, and we were just inklings for each other deep at the bottom of the ocean. This was before the Polynesian founders came here looking for signs of life, and we left our marks everywhere, like the islands themselves were the proof to the sun and the moon that we had been here, and we had been busy.

Today, I am thinking about the things that were here and are now past, and am ready to turn in my keys and thank everyone for a lovely time, because it’s clearly time to go. Only there is something in your eyes this morning, and you say you see the same things in me, and the woman on television is talking about Lo’ihi Seamount and I wonder what that is. You tell me it’s a sister volcano, one that is still working, and won’t even reach the surface for another hundred thousand years. That’s short for here, and some of these things are worth waiting for.

Charlotte North Carolina is heading into 2010 with many new buildings and hotels added to the sky line. The NASCAR museum is also new and about to open in May and the night life is is hot. There is a great trend in this city to have destination party spots in the city. They have created areas were there are lots of restaurants, bars, theatres, shops and live entertainment all together in a block area. This give the feel of one great big party happening rather than having to drive all over town to go to different places. There are different bands playing in different bars close by so that people have a chance to get some variety in the evening. Take the Epicentre for instance. One could get there in the late afternoon and do some shopping in the many retail stores. Find a table at one of the fabulous restaurants to choose from, like Flemings Steakhouse for some dinner. Take an evening stroll along the outside corridors for some fresh air then find out who is playing in the out door pavilion for the night. Move in and out of a few different bars to see who is out and try some of the specialty drinks. Then maybe wind down with a little late night rock and roll bowling at Strikecity The possibilities are endless for fun and entertainment when you add in venues like the movie theatres and the super hot night clubs. Live music at Howl at the Moon ready to rock everyone with dueling pianos and all sorts of great rock and blues bands coming through. So if you are looking at the best charlotte hotels then keep this destination fun spot in mind. There are sure to be plenty of rooms near this wonderful entertainment complex filled with great hospitality and many good times.

Histories and Stories in Fort Wayne

Those moments that seem to come and go, fleeting as they are, speaking to a past as well as a present, stemming from the belly of the midwest, and making music that falls like rain over children when the day is over. This is Fort Wayne in its deep history, the elegant mission to the inside of the stories of the ones who lived here and the things that they saw here. It’s a place where events that could only speak to the center of a country remain hidden in the archives, but these days there are always more archivists who work better and smarter to make sure these things are preserved.

It is a place where preservation comes as a matter of civic responsibility, and this is a nod to the souls who passed over these same grounds so many years before. It is a labor of love and also a labor of interior strength, making it possible to enjoy the living graces of the city, where the hotels in the city can offer more than just pleasant accommodations, but a chance to visit a place where the past feeds the present, and some of the citizens decide not to forget, or at least not forget so easily as happens in other places.

With organizations as gracious as the Friends of Indiana State Archives , it’s possible to discover the real threads of the city that feed the moment at hand, and offer it some semblance of continuity. This is the here and now of Fort Wayne, and it’s built on older institutions like the Soldier’s and Sailor’s Children’s Home , or the School for Feeble Minded Children, those remnants of the 19th century, where citizens understood that we needed to find ways to take care of each other. That this city is built on the efforts of the brave ones, and depends on the continuity and solid foundations for the young. These efforts are still somewhere in the soil, and they seem to infuse the city with strength, especially at those times when it is necessary to gear up for another season where we need to help each other in order to survive ourselves.

Cellist Joshua Roman Performs with the Santa Barbara Symphony

Santa Barbara is known for a diverse selection of cultural attractions and while this is true one of the primary musical features of this city is its classical music scene. While there are a great number of performance genres that take place in Santa Barbara, both from local artists as well as major professionals in many fields, the city remains known for its great classical music performances. The Santa Barbara Symphony is one of the premiere classical music companies of the city and is well loved by the residents and visitors frequently include a performance as part of their trips agenda. For people who are planning a trip to Santa Barbara , it is great to know that tickets can be purchased in advance.

The symphony frequently features guest performances and the upcoming schedule includes an appearance by guest conductor Mark Russell Smith and cellist Joshua Roman . Roman has had an interesting career and for the last couple of years has pursued the life of solo performer. This is a somewhat unconventional career approach for a classically trained musician who left the security of a coveted principal cellist to pursue a solo career.

Roman served as the principle cellist for the Seattle Symphony Orchestra from 2006 through the end of the season in 2008. He joined the orchestra at the young age of 22, which makes him one of the youngest musicians to achieve principle chair status, and he is the youngest to ever achieve this position with the Seattle Orchestra. However, he left this position to pursue a career on his own and so far he has been successful and has explored his own eclectic musical tastes. In addition to appearing with classical music companies, he also explores jazz clubs and is a strong supporter of contemporary genres. He is known for bridging the gap between the classical world and alternative venue performances. His appearances with the Santa Barbara Symphony will be on March 20 and 21 and they should be exciting and inspiring.

Rims and Style

We all know what new rims can do for a car. Even the cars that are already slick-looking and evoke a sense of awe from onlookers can use a boost like this, to make things really stand out. It makes sense that these would be some of the most obvious ways to really do nice things for your vehicle, because the wheels are constantly moving, and they catch everybody’s eye. Any slight modification that you might do to them will really bring out some spectacular effects, and make people wonder about the person driving. It’s a good idea, then, to have a sense of your own style before investing in the look for your car.

Investing in a new rims tires combination is always a good move, but it’s also smart to consider the effect you’re trying to get. Here, form and function should go together, where you consider what they do, and what effect they might have on the vehicle. If you’re deciding to go higher, you might want to take some time to consider why, because it will affect the way the car handles. Oftentimes, being able to keep low adds a coolness that height can’t afford, and there are other cars that simply do look good when they’re raised.

With so many choices for rims and tires, there’s also room to get the look you’re really after. Here, you can think like an artist , and if you have the functionality already planned out, then consider what you want people to feel when they see your car. Is it a sense of danger, or excitement, or even menace? Or it is something else entirely, like a feeling of elegance, like they’re watching something graceful in motion? All of these questions are good to consider ahead of time, and be sure to bring along an open mind, because there’s probably new things you hadn’t even considered before.
